Project of the Week September 16th, 2011 – Family room

“We had attempted to get other bids and were amazed on how unprofessional so many of the contractors are. It was very refreshing to see how Ken of Appleton Renovations presented fresh ideas that went beyond what we believed could be done with our area… every aspect of the proposed was detailed out, Ken mentioned that there were some unknowns concerning our fireplace and he would be able to advise better once the wall was opened up, what was nice is he proposed two plans before starting our project detailing an alternative backup plan which had complete cost details for both solutions.  This left us feeling very comfortable knowing all our options and associated cost.

We ARE ECSTATIC ABOUT THE RESULTS!  Our Family room feels huge!” Our entertainment center is truly focal point in our home.

Project of the Week September 9th, 2011 – awesome Home Theater creation

Another awesome Home Theater creation from Appleton Renovations, this is now our third custom built-In.  Thank you for your creative ideas Ken… we thought having two separate cabinets was the only option we had, amazing to see how you think outside the box!We have had our entire home renovated this summer and soon discovered that Appleton did many of the trades we had hired others to do except Appleton was not only better in quality they were 10x faster, we actually fired a couple contractors to have Appleton take over.

In addition to building a beautiful Built-In they designed us the most amazing 70” LED Theater Solution with a one touch remote that’s make usage extremely easy to navigate our Home Theater system, It is just beautiful!

Project of Week September 02, 2011 – Entire home renovated

Appleton Renovations, simply amazing quality and professionalism! We have had our entire home renovated this summer and soon discovered that Appleton did many of the trades we had hired others to do except Appleton was not only better in quality they were 10x faster, we actually fired a couple contractors to have Appleton take over.  Here’s the most surprising thing, another company quoted $19,000 for a cabinet that Appleton Renovations ended up doing for $6,500.  As a result we were able to have Three built-Ins completed for the same price as original bid!  We are so pleased.  Lastly the Home Theaters they installed ROCKS our house!

FIVE signs it’s time to break up with your contractor:

FIVE signs it’s time to break up with your contractor:

1)      NO CONTRACT: Before starting any project be sure to have a signed contract in place… If a contractor begins your project without one it’s very likely your understanding of what was to be performed may not be completed as expected.

2)      MISSED PROJECT COMPLETION DATES: Before you begin your project always be sure to get in writing your start and completion dates so that a common goal is set and achieved.

3)      COST OVER RUNS: All aspects of your project should be clearly defined with their associated cost.  If there are unknown aspects hidden within walls as an example your contractor should express what risk and cost could be if unforeseen setbacks may be discovered.

4)      PERSONALITY CONFLICTS: If your contractor isn’t respectful of you or your property it may be in your best interest to terminate relation before your experience goes downhill too quickly. At the end of your project you both should feel good about your relation and want to do business together again.

5)      CONTRACT VIOLATION: Change orders are certainly acceptable providing they are agreed upon by both parties but if the work begins to stray away from what was agreed without verbal or written consent then it may be time to terminate relation.  All Change Orders should be noted on contract and the price agreed in writing before commencing forward.

“Here at Appleton Renovations we respect and value your trust in us… Contracts are always in place prior to commencing work, every project is started on time and finished on time,  All cost and aspects are clearly defined within our contracts.  We are a family operated and owed small business serving your community since 2003, your satisfaction is always our number one objective!”
