About Us
Who We Are
Appleton Renovations is a family-owned custom cabinetry and finish carpentry company based in Star, Idaho, serving homeowners throughout the Treasure Valley, including Eagle, Meridian, Boise, Middleton, Nampa and surrounding communities.
Our family's roots in construction go back to 1960, when Ken Appleton Sr. began building industrial buildings. Ken Appleton Jr. grew up around the construction trades and began working hands-on at an early age. By age 16, he was already wiring homes during the summers and developing the skills and work ethic that would eventually lead him back to the family trade.
After graduation, Ken pursued a successful career in the technology industry, working with Fortune 500 companies including EMC, CLARiiON and QLogic Corporation, eventually becoming a Director of Sales for North America in the enterprise computer industry. Throughout those years, however, he continued remodeling and improving homes whenever time allowed.
In 2003, Ken decided to leave the corporate world and return to what he truly enjoyed — designing, building and working with his hands. Appleton Renovations was born from that decision and from a desire to provide homeowners with something Ken often found lacking in the construction industry: dependable communication, professionalism, quality craftsmanship and a contractor who does what he says he will do.
Today, Appleton Renovations is truly a family-run business. Ken and his son Austin personally design, build and install our custom cabinets, built-ins, entertainment centers, fireplace built-ins, home offices, Murphy beds and finish carpentry. Ken’s wife, Linda, manages the office, including customer calls, scheduling, payroll and the day-to-day details that keep our projects and business running smoothly. Together, the three Appletons work closely with our customers from the initial conversation through the final installation. Keeping the business within the family allows us to maintain the personal service, communication and attention to detail our customers expect.
Our Work Ethic Is Simple
1. Be on time.
2. Be professional.
3. Deliver craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
We believe homeowners should be able to expect a call back, clear communication and a contractor who shows up when promised. We take pride in every project we build and strive to create cabinetry and built-ins that look beautiful, function well and add lasting value to your home.
From our family's beginnings in construction more than 60 years ago to the custom cabinetry we build today, the principles behind Appleton Renovations haven't changed: work hard, treat people right and build it right.
