Project of the Week October 10th, 2013 – Built-In Bar Conversion

Letter of Recommendation

Having retired from the Fire Department after 30 years of service – I had looked forward to being able to ‘finally’ do the many things I learned over the years similar to the work and products that Appleton Renovations delivers.  It was only after realizing how many areas of our house that I needed to renovate along with some fortuitous circumstances that happened that I realized I had a chance to use Appleton Renovations to build an entertainment center around our fireplace that we quite literally had talked and ‘wished about’ for far too many years.  After we met with Ken Appleton and had been given the assurance of having a ‘soup to nuts’ demolition, build and finish of a home theater system that involved fireplace renovation, remote controlled LED room lights, and an audio/video/TV system that was promised to be ‘state of the art’ in a timely fashion – we decided to go with this company.

We were not disappointed: we have used the recommended companies (G&F Painting and Bright Granite) to do the follow up finish work for our first project with Ken and we highly recommend not only his own crew/members that did the cabinet and woodwork, but also the painters and granite stone/work people that he recommends.  We were so impressed with his first finished family room project – we decided to bring Appleton Renovations back to complete the rest of our ‘dream’ projects for our house: wet bar renovation, china cabinet/wall unit, entry-way dressing, living room fireplace renovation, living room bookcases and a complete office renovation with wainscoting and crown molding.

Ken follows up often to confer with you in ensuring the work is being done per your expectations.  He also checks and re-checks any details related to the Audio/Video systems that he installs and he provides on-site training along with a detailed notebook of instructions in assisting us to know how to use and operate what is truly ‘state of the art’ electronics for our home.

We feel that we were blessed to have such professional, honest, polite and hardworking people involved in every phase of the work.  All time schedules were kept ‘as promised’ and all of the work has not only met but far exceeded all of our expectations.  There were no ‘hidden fees’ and ‘cost overruns’ – Ken Appleton was meticulous in his presentation and appearance and was extremely careful in ensuring we understood everything from costs to all of the many details related to installation and final finishing.

Ken’s experience in design features complimented and assisted us in deciding what would and would not work with our own pre-conceived ideas.  His vision and knowledge along with being able to show us a vast portfolio of past completed projects enabled us to be confident and comfortable with our final design approval.  Ken’s proposals were extremely detailed and allowed us to be able to ‘pick and choose’ in a menu fashion with respect to materials and design.  This allowed us to customize each project phase according to our budget.

It should be evident that we have developed not just a business relationship with this company, but also a personal relationship that is based on a deep appreciation and trust that was earned through hard work, honesty and integrity that is truly head and shoulders ‘above the rest’!
